LEAD VOCALS

Having started on bass in a rock band I soon became bored just laying down the bottom while the guitarist wailed away at their leads while I kept it simple on the bottom.  Since we didn't have a lot of singers at that time I took the opportunity to start singing and quickly developed into a lead vocalist in a number of groups.

Here are my major influences

John Lennon

JOHN LENNON

This was my earliest influence as a singer.  their was just something about his voice that captivated me, yeah me and millions of others..

Gregg Allman

GREGG ALLMAN

Being a guy born and raised in the south I identified quickly with the southern soulful sounds of Gregg Allman.  I can relate to his melancholy tones and laid back style.

Peter Gabriel

PETER GABRIEL

Different, yes, different.  that's why I liked him he thought outside the box, sometimes outside the box and down on the floor and under the carpet.  In any case a very big influence in my past, especially while with Genesis in the early 1970's.
